Los Angeles Herald - February 16, 1907:

METHODIST PREACHER DIES AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS

Rev. Milton Benjamin Wood, a well known retired Methodist minister, who had resided in Los Angeles the past two years, died yesterday at his home, 1815 New England street, after a short illness. Rev. Mr. Wood, who was 67 years old at the time of his death, was a member of the St. Louis Methodist conference, and of Tipton Lodge, F. and A. M., and Tipton Lodge, A.O.U.W. He served in the Civil War in the Twelfth Indiana regiment and in the Eighty-third Indiana regulars, U.S.V.

Rev. Mr. Wood leaves a wife, two daughters and two sons, Carrie D. Wood and Mrs. J. Spangler, Walter H. and John Wood, all of this city. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at the chapel of Orr & Edwards, Revs. Robert McIntyre and Robert Fisher to officiate. The interment will be in Rosedale cemetery, where the Masons will conduct the service.

FUNERAL OF MINISTER IS HELD

The funeral of Rev. Milton Benjamin Wood, a retired Methodist minister, formerly of St. Louis, was held yesterday afternoon at the chapel of Orr & Edwards, Dr. McIntyre and Rev. Robert Fisher officiating. At Rosedale cemetery, where the body was placed in the vault, the Masonic order had charge of the services.
