US Congressman. Served in the United States Army during the Spanish-American War, and in the United States Army as a Major during World War I. Elected to represent Michigan's 10th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1913 to 1915, and 1921 until his death in 1953. He was defeated in 1914. Also served as Mayor of Bay City, Michigan, from 1911 to 1913.
