Actress, Philanthropist. A noted television performer of the 1950s and 1960s, she left her own career behind when she married pro football owner Art Modell. The child of a judge, she was raised in New York, attended a Convent School in New Rochelle, and later earned a degree from New Rochelle College. As 'Patricia Breslin' she made her small screen debut in 1949 as Juliet in a "Philco Television Playhouse" production of "Romeo and Juliet" then was to gain theatrical experience while in college performing in local productions. Thru the 1950s she was seen frequently on television and indeed at one point even held the record for most appearances by a female artist, a mark broken by Lucille Ball; while her best known turn was on "The People's Choice" which starred Jackie Cooper she also earned credits on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Perry Mason, "Thriller", "The Twilight Zone", "Bonanza", "Dr. Kildaire", "The Millionaire", "Armstrong Circle Theater", "Studio One", and other fare of the time. Seen on the big screen occasionally she was in 1961's "Homicidal" then in 1964 she landed the role of Laura Brooks on the series "Peyton Place". Between 1966 and 1969 she was nurse Meg Bentley on ABC's afternoon soap "General Hospital" but was to leave show business following her 1969 marriage to Cleveland Browns' owner Art Modell. As Mrs. Modell she was active in numerous charity and arts projects, initially in Cleveland then in Baltimore after the team moved and became the Ravens. She died following a five month hospitalization for pancreatitis.
