He signed a contract with Paramount Pictures in 1929 and later worked as an actor for most of the major studios. Married to stage actress Carrie Barbier. Actor in 88 films from 1924 to 1945 including: "The Big Broadcast," "Tillie and Gus," "The Merry Widow," "Wife vs. Secretary," "Tarzan's Revenge," "Weekend in Havana" and "Song of the Islands." Barbier was disinterred from Hollywood Forever on August 30th, 1945 and his body was sent to Philadelphia for reburial.
