I did not know Lee, but I thought of him during a rebroadcast of the 1988 campaign. Perhaps, the only things we held in common were sons of the South, Fender Stratocaster guitar players. It was either divine providence or coincidence that this day I made a virtual visit to Lee's grave on the anniversary of his death. This is also the date of my father's birth (29 March 1912) who also died after an aggressive brain tumor (56 years). It turns out that my sister died from the same disease two years ago (62 years). In the end, we are all travellers, passing through.May he continue to rest in peace.... no more pain. WCH -

In your last weeks, you wrote in Life Magazine, "My illness helped me to see that what was missing in society is what was missing in me: a little heart, a lot of brotherhood." I hope if I ever stray from a life fairness and compassion, that I will have a similar mea culpa. A brave admission. Congratulations.
