I bet you and Otis are sitting "On the Dock of the Bay" jammin' away. Sometimes 1967 seems like yesterday.

Many friends miss Lee, as do I. He could really play that guitar! Still listen to his music from time to time.... And I miss his humor, too.

In your last weeks, you wrote in Life Magazine, "My illness helped me to see that what was missing in society is what was missing in me: a little heart, a lot of brotherhood." I hope if I ever stray from a life fairness and compassion, that I will have a similar mea culpa. A brave admission. Congratulations.

Sir, you did a lot for the United States and conservative principles. You could be ruthless at times, but sometimes the evil of liberalism requires that. Rest well

Lee, you fought for America against those who would have let the Soviets go on to rule the world. Everyone living in freedom today owes a debt to you for helping Reagan bring down the Evil Empire. Those who attack you, even in the grave, are free to do so partly because of your work. God Bless America, and Lee Atwater.

Say what you may...
This was a fine man and one hell of a republican. Clinton would have never gotten into the White House if Lee had been around.
God bless you buddy.
