Doris H. Baker, born June 12, 1918, San Pedro, California, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 14, 2009 at her daughters home in Vista. Doris resided in Lomita, California. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Naval Lt. [jg] Ralph E. Baker; father, Wilburn; and mother, Leona Blue. She is survived by her son, Ronald Baker; and daughter, Bonnie Pelle; three grandchildren, Rene Manning, Steve Pelle, and Mike Willis; four great-grandchildren, Trevor and Matthew Manning, Isabelle Pelle, and Amanda Willis.

Doris enjoyed the ocean, crocheting hats for Camp Pendleton newborns, classic movies, old bands, crossword puzzles and a little fling at the casinos. but most of all she enjoyed being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Doris will be interred at the Roosevelt Memorial Park in Gardena, California. Published in U-T San Diego on May 24, 2009
