Military Figure, Politician. He gained recognition for his service in the Italian military. He was a cavalry and general staff officer, commander of the Pinerolo School, then of the "Ariete" armored corps, who opposed the Nazi in the occupation during World War II of Rome from September 9, 1943. When Rome fell to the Nazi Forces, he evaded capture by associating himself with the secret military center of Italian Resistance member Colonel Montezemolo. Invited by the national government installed in liberated Rome and the National Liberation Committee of Upper Italy (CLNAI), he parachuted into the Bergamo area in the summer of 1944 and reached Milan. The following November he was appointed general commander of the CVL. During the Liberation Uprising in April 1945, he led the surrender of the fascist forces. Promoted for special merits, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Army in May 1945 and awarded 4 medals for military valor. Born the son of World War I Field Marshall Luigi Cadorna and the grandson of General Raffaele Cadorna, his military career began in 1909 during the Italo-Turkish War. He fought bravely during World War I and was promoted to captain. He entered the military reserved in 1947 and became involved in politics in 1948. In the first and second legislature, he was elected to the Senate of the Italian Republic. He married and had five sons.
