Fred owned and operated a music store in downtown State College for many years and played a variety of musical instruments and was proficient with them all. He loved classic cars. The most memorable one that I recall was a Plymouth Roadrunner, painted Dukes of Hazzard orange with the large airfoil off of the rear end. He drove it like he meant it....fast! He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and was married to his wife Charlotte for 50 years. Always had a kind word for everyone and was willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever it was needed. Buried a few blocks from his former home on East Howard Street in Bellefonte, he was an US Army Airforce Veteran who served in WWII.
