Prussian Nobility, Military Figure. He was a descendant of the Hohenzollern dynasty and Hesse-Darmstadt. Best known as Prince Louis, he was the second son of King Frederick William II of Prussia. In 1793, he married the Princess Frederica of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and the couple had two sons and a daughter. In 1795, he was appointed Commander of the First Regiment of Dragoons, whose command was stationed in Schwedt, but soon after died of diphtheria at an early age.
