U.S. Congressman. Educated at the University of New Mexico, during World War I, he served in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he moved to Pueblo, Colorado, engaged in the life insurance business and joined the U.S. Army Reserves Corps in 1924. He also was a member of the Pueblo Board of Education, (1937-40). In 1940, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-sixth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John A. Martin, serving until 1941. Not a candidate for election, he was called to active duty in the U.S. Army as a Major in 1942 and served in India, during World War II. Returning to the United States after the war, at the rank of Colonel, he was put in command of Camp Ross California and served until December 1945. After leaving the military, he resumed his life insurance business in Denver, Colorado, until his retirement.
