Bio

I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Elizabeth Hambrick Collins.

I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.

I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi. My last job before retiring was working on the Helpdesk of the United States Treasury Depart - U.S. Mint Division. In August 2018, retirement was too boring, so I began working for Enterprise Holdings at the Jackson, MS airport as a part-time driver. On October 12, 2018, I moved to the Remarketing Department at Enterprise, which drives long-distance to deliver or pick up cars for Enterprise, National and Alamo - all of which are owned by Enterprise Holdings, Inc.

I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences Degree with an emphasis in History.

I have written and maintain 324 web pages (http://www.vaiden.net), including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery and the Vaiden Community Cemetery.

So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).

Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/15/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.

Remember me as you pass by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.

NOTICE: If someone sends me additions to an existing memorial, that does NOT mean that I am related to the person in that memorial. It also does not mean that I can verify the accuracy of their submission.

REMEMBER, if you add someone to FINDAGRAVE, take another few seconds to add a virtual flower to that memorial.

The grave my little cottage is,
Where "Keeping house" for thee
I make my parlor orderly
And lay the marble tea.

For two divided, briefly,
A cycle, it may be,
Till everlasting life unite
In strong society.
