Bio

My name is Shanna (yes, named after the book). I live in the southern U.S. with my five cats (Maggie, Abby, Zoe, and the twins, Izzie & Ollie) and adorable, Cajun fiance, Baret.

I have always had a passion and interest in cemeteries...being a writer, I can't help but imagine what the lives of each name on each headstone were like.

One of the cemeteries that touched me most was Brandon Hall Cemetery, just off the Natchez Trace, in Mississippi. Taking the names and dates found there, I began my research into this family and to see what happened to the many children buried there...the fruits of my labor became The Brandon Children; a site and project I am continually working on.

I am also - finally - actively researching my family own history (and using F.A.G. to preserve information on final resting places and short bios). Surnames from the Avoyelles, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, and Iberville parishes that I'm always on the lookout for include (but aren't limited to!) Beauvais, Nugent, Prestenback, Charrier, Guerin, Deauville, Guillory, and Juneau. My work appears on my site, Louisiana Lineage.

Finally, if I have added any of your family/friends and you would like to take ownership or have changes made, just let me know. Please know that it may take me awhile to get to the changes/transfers as I don't come here as often as I used to but they will get done.
