Bio

After taking a cemetery tour in 2008, I decided to photograph and transcribe the graves of the Civil War soldiers buried at Pittsford Cemetery. That little project snowballed into an obsession to find any information I could about these hometown heroes.

Since that first tour, I have given many cemetery tours of my own, and I continue to be amazed at the interesting people who lived in this community.

The majority of the graves I list on Find A Grave are people who reside in my neighborhood cemeteries. I have seen the graves and, in several cases, personally tend to them on a regular basis.

Find A Grave has been very helpful in my personal genealogy searches, as well as to my Civil War soldiers project. I look forward to assisting others with their searches as a contributor.

My blog, Illuminated History (www.IlluminatedHistory.com), details my research into the lives of interesting people from the Rochester-area community.
