I research, develop and deliver stories about the local history of central New York, with a focus on how the events of 19th-century American history influenced the everyday lives of people living in and around Baldwinsville, NY, including the towns of Lysander and Van Buren. I've written a book about the rural schools of Lysander called "Lysander Goes to School," and 50+ local history articles for the Baldwinsville Messenger in two series entitled "Looking Backward" and "Pieces of the Past." I have served as Van Buren Town Historian and on the boards of the Beauchamp Historical Club in Baldwinsville, NY, and the Schroeppel Historical Society in Phoenix, NY.
