Bio

I have been interested in genealogy since 2004. I am retired and live in Gambrills, Maryland. My main genealogy interests are in Western Maryland and S. Central Pennsylvania. My wife is also involved in her genealogy in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. We visit cemeteries to find our ancestors' stones and markers. I enjoy photographing the monuments.

Main families of interest are Minnich (Minich), Keefauver, Lemen, Harsh and Stone, Craig, Lydic, and Buterbaugh. Others are Johnston, Swonger, Lloyd, and Miner.

If I have made a duplicate, please contact me and it will be deleted quickly. Use edit button to add corrections. Please do not add unnecessary photos to any memorials. Save room for future personal photos from family. Unnecessary photos include close-up photos of the plot number on markers and the cemetery plot signs. The plot number should be entered in the Bio plot section of the memorial not as a picture. Obituaries should be typed in the Bio sect and not added as photos. Transfers may be made if you ask using the EDIT button - Suggest A Correction button and also state relationship. You have my permission to use my grave stone / marker photos for your private use. For any use of my family or my rescue-orphan photos please contact me. Hopefully, you will source or link the photos. It never hurts to give someone credit for helping you.

I have been purchasing "orphan-rescue" antique photos with names sufficient to search and find a 'home' for them. Also, old college and high school yearbooks can be used for people pictures. Scanning pictures from an uncopyrighted book may need some photo editing to remove dots. There are photo albums of Hellyers (Seneca F., etc. - PA) and Hopkins (Arthur, Lewis, etc.) that are awaiting family. Please visit my Rescue-Orphans Virtual Cemetery and Yearbook Virtual Cemeteries.

Useful tools - Battery-powered string trimmer, non-flexible putty knife, grout brush, towels, water (Spray bottle) to enhance inscriptions, digital camera - Canon SX160 IS.

I will try to be a friend to all and will help where possible.

Findagrave is as good as we make it.
