On a brighter side, most of my family and several generations were from Cayuga County, NY. When I walk a cemetery where my relatives are buried and see other headstones, I can only wonder if they knew my ancestors. Perhaps they held their hand during a difficult time or brought them chicken soup when they were ill - I can only imagine. I know where I will be buried and I knew people who are buried there and I also know people who will be buried there. It is comforting to know that I will be among family and friends who have been a part of my life. My husbands cousin will be buried next to us. I told her, if she and my husband leaves this world before me, then she is to keep him in line until I get there! Now I wonder, did my ancestors know others buried near them too? In regards to Find a Grave - to soon people are forgotten and what a wonderful way to memorialize them and share their lives.
