Bio

I was born, raised, and currently living in Dallas, Texas. I am an infant in the genealogy world, and I'm learning by the minute.
Long story short, my maternal grandmother relocated from West Virginia to Dallas in 1965 with her husband and three youngest children. My uncle, Harold, passed suddenly on Feb 23, 1966 of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 13. He was buried two days later at Oakland cemetery. Fast forward 47 years and a descendant, me, of whom he never knew discovers a decaying, deplorable piece of local history. Harold was only a small example of a much larger forgotten past. I had to do something about it.
I am not wealthy, so I have no money to give. I do not have a landscaping company or metallurgy business; therefore, I probably couldn't put any noticeable dent in the condition of the grounds. I am not a councilman, judge, or person of influence, so i have no say in municipal or charitable funds. But, what I do have is my personal effort and actions to do something that I feel is important.
This site, is the best way I can do that. If I can help others find those lost to history as I have, and keep the embers stoked until the flames begin to rise, then I have done my part.
Please help, Oakland is dying.
