Mrs. Fay Chandler Spoon, 68, of 2639 Club Park Drive died at her home Saturday evening following an extended illness. She was born in Winston-Salem on March 29, 1923 to Burke E. and Mary Hobson Chandler. She was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, a graduate of Gray High School and attended Meredith College. Mrs. Spoon was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Riley Eugene Spoon, in 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Jennifer Fay Spoon of Radford, Va.; one son, Riley C. Spoon of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Matthew P. Spoon, and her mother of Elkin.
