Mildred was the daughter of John Connally and Sicily Moore of Caswell County, NC. John and Sicily moved to Franklin County, GA in 1800. John died in 1807. Sicily died in 1809. Mildred and her siblings were placed with their father's half brother, Thomas Connally. He took them back to Caswell County, NC.

On July 23, 1821 Mildred married William Bouldin at Halifax County, VA. In 1830, they were residing at Giles County, TN. William died in 1834 at Lincoln County, TN. Mildred and her four children then briefly lived with a relative in Alabama. When her daughter, Rebecca, married, she lived with her at Carroll County, TN for the rest of her life.

Mildred and William were the parents of David Russell, George Anderson, Rebecca Frances and James Calvin Bowlin. All four are listed as under age five on the 1830 census.
