Paul Stodt, who married Dorothy Virginia (Brumm) Herman on April 14, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, was the third of seven children born to the family of Frank John (1882-1967) and Elsie Magdalena (Schultke) Stodt (1891 - 1983). His siblings were Victor Marton Stodt Sr. (1910-1979), Leo Francis Stodt (1912-2005), Chester Frank Stodt (1922-1927), Mary Stodt (1918-1918), Crystal Maryann "Chris" (Stodt) Stoykovich, and Berniece Agnes "Mary" (Stodt) McCoy (1931-2008).

Paul H. Stodt, 705 Broadway Street, West Burlington, died Thursday, January 8, at Burlington Medical Center. He was 70. Born May 2, 1916, at West Burlington, he was the son of Frank J. and Elsie M. Schultke Stodt.

He married Dorothy Brumm Herman on April 14, 1950, at Burlington.

Mr. Stodt was a longtime electrician at the Burlington Northern Railroad shops.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Burlington, and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife; one step-daughter, Susan Leland of West Burlington (sic: Marion, Iowa); one step-son, Robert Herman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Leo Stodt of West Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice McCoy of Hampton, and Mrs. Crystal Stoykovich of Lynnwood, California, two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel and will be followed by family visitation.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend Louis Mulligan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
