Death of an Aged Pioneer

Mrs. Ellenor Comely died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chauncey, corner East and Second streets, at 6 o'clock last evening. In the death of Mrs. Comley, another aged pioneer crosses the dark river to the mystic country where the weary pioneer finds soothing rest. She was 95 years of age, and had resided here from girlhood. She saw Madison when it was a village of log cabins, and during her life saw the forests of this valley gradually disappear to give room for houses and homes. She was the grand-mother of Mrs. Chauncey, and Messrs. John W. Henry and Jefferson Thomas. Her funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.
