Philip Overbeck was the son of Henry and Thea Overbeck. He graduated in 1965 from Sturgeon Bay High School, Door County, Wisconsin. Phil was the fifth and last Door County veteran to be killed in action during the Vietnam War. He was a paratrooper serving with the 173 Airborne Brigade, Company B-4, 503 Infantry when he was killed by an explosive device while on an operation out of Binh Dinh.
