He married Bertha Henrietta Marcussen (1887-c1965) on March 25, 1912 in Brooklyn. She had emigrated in 1910 from Norway.

He died in 1933 as "Carl Dahl" and was listed in the New York City Death Index as death number "1776" in Richmond County. He died of "carcinoma of the penis with metastasis to the bladder".

Burial:
He was buried in Silver Mount Cemetery on Staten Island.

Widow:
Bertha married Harvey Henry Olsen (1875-?) after they met on a trip she took to Norway.
