Published in the Decatur Herald, Decatur, Nebraska on January 28, 1909; page 1.
Clare, the son of Jason B. White and Clara Woodrich White, was born January 10, 1908, and died January 22, 1909, being at the age of death only 1 year and 12 days old. On January 10th, only fifteen days after his birth, the mother passed away to her reward above, leaving the little babe in the care of the father, as a sacred memorial. But only was for a brief time, and the same time and merciful Providence, that always does things wisely and for the best, saw fit to call the darling child also, to be with the mother, in that brighter and better world above, where now both mother and child await the coming of those who are left behind.
The funeral services were held at the home of the father, two miles south of town, on the Tekamah road. Rev. J.H. Smith provided the sermon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the beautiful Decatur Cemetery.
