Loammi Granberry (Lomia on original Civil War Soldiers Index) was a Private in Company H, 27th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry also known as the Jasper Blues raised from Jasper and Lauderdale counties in Mississippi. Loammi died in the Quintard Hospital in Rome on May 21, 1863 was interred the same day per Myrtle Hill Cemetery records. On the original cemetery record he is listed as Lomia Granberry, The headstone reads S. Granberry but no official record has been located as to his first or middle name; however, some researchers do show his middle name as Granberry. The manager of Myrtle Hill Cemetery said that most of the headstones were made locally and are not government Civil War issued and there have been many reports of errors in the names on the stones of those soldiers interred there.
