Almeron MORRIS Victim of Stroke
A stroke proved fatal to Almeron MORRIS, 69, retired farmer and a resident of this county most of his life, in his home on East State street in Corunna at 11 a.m. today. The deceased had been in ill health from injuries sustained in a fall from the roof of his home about six months ago but had not been confined to his bed for some time. He was suddenly stricken this morning shortly after arising. Funeral arrangements are not complete. Mr. MORRIS was born in Shiawasseetown September 1, 1866, the son of Leonard and Candice[sic] MORRIS. Most of his life was spent on farms in the county with the exception of 15 years just previous to the World War when he made his home in Kansas. Since 1918 Mr. MORRIS had lived on farms in Venice township and the vicinity of Corunna. He retired four years ago and moved to Corunna to make his home. The deceased was married August 19, 1890 in Ithaca to Miss Nellie WILKINSON. He was a member of the Corunna Baptist Church and Corunna Blue Lodge No. 115. Survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Edward UNGER, of Oxford, and three sons, Leonard of Corunna, Bruce of Owosso, and Howard of Detroit. He also leaves a brother, Lee MORRIS, residing in North Dakota, and two grandchildren.
