LaVerne Raymond Fleischman was born January 8, 1917, near Elmwood, Nebraska to Albert John and Mable Nora (Kunz) Fleischman. He passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at his home in rural Oakland, at the age of 95 years.
At the age of 16 years, LaVerne moved with his family to the Riverside Community in rural Tekamah, Nebraska, where his family farmed.
On February 20, 1940, LaVerne married Violet Lucille Williams. They moved to a farm east of Oakland, where they lived for 72 years. Three children, Mary Katherine, Joseph A. and Susan M., were born to this union. LaVerne was a life-long farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Carl and Myrl Fleischman and his sister, Dorothy Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Oakland; daughters, Mary Fleischman of Oakland, Susan (Kevin) Hansen of Tekamah; son, Joseph (Charlene) Fleischman of Tekamah; three grandsons, Mike (Kristi) Fleischman, Dave (Michelle) Fleischman, Jeff (Whitney) Fleischman; six great grandchildren, Kolton and Easton Fleischman, Tysen, Tessa and Tanner Fleischman, Ceden Fleischman; brothers, James and Morris Fleischman both of Craig, Nebraska, Orval Fleischman of Tekamah; many nieces and nephews.
