Sherman, Texas, Dec 24 - John W. Thompson , 63 , Grayson County farmer who has resided on Sherman route 2, west of here, for the last fifty years, succumed to a stroke of paralysis Friday at a local hospital where he was taken Thursday following the attack.
Fuenral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. He had been a member of the Friendship Methodist Church for many years.
Mr. Thompson was born at Louisville, Ky., Nov 2, 1874. He came to Grayson County when a boy, settling on the farm west of Sherman where he took his bride, Miss Chattie Holbert, thirty years ago. He had been active in the farming interest of Grayson County over a long period of time.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Thompson is survived by three daughters, Miss Lillian and Miss Ruth Thompson of Dallas. Miss Billye Faye Thompson of the David E. Bryant School faculty, a son , J.W. Thompson Jr. of Sherman; a brother, H.T. Thompson of Sherman and five sisters, Mrs. W. C. Scott of San Antonio.
Mrs Jim Blakley of Plainview, Mrs Frank Troutz and Mrs. W.E. Davis of Sherman and Mrs Sue Brown of Madera, Calif.
