Born Aug. 7, 1920, in Butler, he was the son of George and Agnes Kirch Bauer.
He was a retired self-employed milk transporter in the Butler area for more than 50 years. He also drove for Bracken Construction until his retirement in 1985 and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Mr. Bauer was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the West Sunbury VFW Post.
He enjoyed gardening and camping.
Surviving is a niece by marriage, Joan Stewing of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Sabol Bauer, who died April 22, 2004; and by four brothers; and two sisters.
