Mrs. Willie Bowers Davis, age 100, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Pineville Rehab & Living Center in Pineville, NC. She was born April 12, 1912 in Kershaw County, the daughter of the late Lewis Bowers and Annie Peach Bowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter of 66 years, and her 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Mrs. Davis retired from Springs Industries – Spinning Dept. and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, two sons, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Davis will be 3:00 pm Monday, November 26, 2012 at The Chapel of Hartley – Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Earl Pennell. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. Davis will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Monday, November 26, 2012 at the funeral home and the family suggests memorials be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4622 Nations Crossing Road, Charlotte, NC 28217.
