Mitchell R. Trueman was born February 29, 1864 in the state of Iowa, and died in the Colby hospital December 16, 1945 at the age of eighty-two years.
He came to Kansas about 1905 and later settled on a farm near Oakley, where he lived until the time of his last illness.
He never married. He was the last of a family of eight children. He leaves as his nearest relatives, five nephews and nieces.
He will be missed by those who knew him as a neighbor and friend, as by those who knew him by the tie of blood.
Funeral services were held at the Don Hall Funeral Home in Oakley, with Rev. D. N. McAllister of the Oakley Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Grinnell Cemetery.

Mike Trueman, who had been in poor health several months and had been cared for the past three months by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Suter in their home, was taken to the Colby hospital Saturday. He died Sunday afternoon. The death of Mr. Trueman marks the passing of one of Gove County's pioneer citizens, Uncle Mike, as he was known to many of his friends, was over 80 years old and was greatly liked and respected by all who knew him.
