Anna M. Reichard, 88, formerly of Raubsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, in Country Meadows Nursing Center, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Russell R. Reichard, who died last April.

She was a bookkeeper for the former Berlou Fabrics, Raubsville, for 22 years before retiring in 1974. At one time, she and her husband raised turkeys and produce.

Born in Tatamy, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Nellie (Streepy) Lehr.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Durham. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Raubsville, where she had served on the church council, and was a member of the Mary Martha Society and the Lutheran Church Women.

She was a 50-year member of the William Parsons Chapter 185, Order of the Eastern Star, Easton.

She formerly served on the Williams Township Election Board.

___________________________________________

Both Anna and I both descend from:
Johann Haubrich Lohr (11/26/1719-10/12/1802)
who came to America from Germany in 1749
and settled in Bucks Co.

She descends from Haubrich's son Anthony (Lehr), whereas I descend from Haubrich's son Arnold (Leer). The original spelling of my and her maiden name was Loehr. The named change began on the ship as Haubrich used the spelling Lohr. Other spellings were: Leer, Lehr, and Lear.

Though I did not know Anna personally, I respectfully honor her memory with this memorial since she was a distant relative of mine.
