Mr. Ellis was the last of seven brothers from their parents, William Littleton and Vera Huggins Ellis. Mr. Ellis' education was finished at The Mars Hill School. Mr. Ellis worked for Colony Cleaners and Genesco Company before he became a self-employed entrepreneur. Survived by wife of 64 years, Evelyn Smiley Ellis; children, Gay (David) Hurst, Knoxville, TN, Joyce (Kenneth) Bridges, Nashville, TN, and Thomas (Teresa) Ellis, Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Kristen Matthew Hurst, Kimberly Michelle Hurst, Kerry Mitchell Hurst, Mary Callie Garton Jordan, Elizabeth Anne Garton, Christopher Thomas Ellis, Stephanie Michelle Ellis, and Jared Lynn Ellis; great-grandchildren, Alexander James Jordan and Katherine Elizabeth Jordan.
