Mary Chambers (ca 1728-1796) married James Claypoole (1721-1784) in September 1750, following the death of Rebecca, James' first wife, in July 1749. James and Mary had at least 7 children, namely Elizabeth, Mary, Abraham George, David Chambers, Temperance, Hester and Septimus. Mary Chambers Claypoole's death in 1796 was observed as follows:
Gazette of the United States August 4, 1796 -
"Philadelphia Thursday Evening
The death of Mrs Mary Claypoole, Mother to the Printers of the American Dailey (sic) Advertiser, will prevent the publication of that paper tomorrow."
The Philadelphia Minerva Aug. 6, 1796
"Died
On thursday last Mrs. Mary Claypoole"
Mary Chambers (ca 1728-1796) married James Claypoole (1721-1784) in September 1750, following the death of Rebecca, James' first wife, in July 1749.
