EDWARD J. McDEVITT
SOUTH DORSET - Edward Joseph McDevitt, 63, World War II Veteran, died Saturday. He had lived in South Dorset most of his life.
Born in South Dorset April 3, 1904, his parents were William and Margaret (Molloy) McDevitt. For several years he was employed by the Railway Express Agency in Rutland.
He belonged to Rutland American Legion Post and was a member of St. Jerome's Church.
Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Eva Burns of South Dorset, Mrs. Marcella Schlieder of Manchester Center, Mrs. Clara Nugent of Rutland, Mrs. Paul Whalen of Rutland; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held this morning in St. Jerome's Church in East Dorset with the pastor, the Rev. Joseph Connolly, officiating. Burial was in St. Jerome's Cemetery.
