John W. Gildersleeve of 349 East Nineteenth street, died on Wednesday at his home.
He had been a resident of Brooklyn for forty-eight years and was born at Stamfordville[sic], N.Y., April 18, 1830. He was well known in the business circles of South Brooklyn, having been identified with the milk trade in that section for years. He was a life member of Joppa Lodge No. 201, F. and A. M. charter member of Iolanthe Council No. 318, Royal Arcanum and a member of the Veteran Masonic Association of Brooklyn.
He leaves a widow, Sarah G., and two daughters, Mrs. Frederick W. Hessie and Mrs. Thomas Glover.
Funeral services will be held Saturday evening at his late residence.
