Wilma (Crabtree) Lacy Swindle, 89, passed away Tuesay, dec. 4,2012, at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born July 5,1922, in Little Crab,TN., to the late George Martin and Frankie Brier (Reagan) Crabtree.

She attended Alvin C. York Institute in Jamestown,TN and Holmes Jr. College in Miss. where she earned her nursing assistant degree. She had worked as a nurse's aid at Ball Memorial Hospital, Henry County Hospital and at Ball State. Wilma's life was spent caring for others. She loved to cook, garden and take care of her family. Both the Lacy family and the Swindle families were loved and cared for by her and she will be lovingly remembered by them all.

She is survived by four children; Mary (Gary) Saruwatori of CA., George (Barbara) Lacy of Spiceland, Elaine (Jim) Petry of CA., William (Millie) Lacy of Hawaii;step-daughter: Norma Jean (Jim) Ellison of New Castle;several grandchildren;great-grandchildren;and great-great grandchildren;three sisters-in-law: Juanita Swindle of Alabama, Jeannette Swindle of TN and Mavis Swindle of Alabama;and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Archie Lacy; second husband: Euless Swindle; a sister, Rose Stilipec; and four brothers, Ewing, Joe, Johnny and Lester Crabtree.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday Dec. 7, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Cathy Harris officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at Dave Beaty Cemetery near Jamestown,TN.
