Elizabeth May Stodt, 80, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of 2215 Racine Street, died at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 1993, at her home in Little Rock.
Born February 23, 1913, in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Edith Esther Stamper Marshall. She married Victor M. Stodt on May 18, 1938, at St. Mary's Church, West Burlington. He died November 11, 1979.
Her mother, two brothers and three sisters died during the influenza epidemic of 1920. Her father died in 1924. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Everett and Alice Jessup.
She had lived most of her life in Burlington, moving to Spencer, North Carolina, in 1986, and later to Little Rock in 1990. She was Protestant.
Survivors include three sons, V. Marton Stodt of Burlington, Joseph Stodt of Little Rock and William Stodt of San Francisco, California; three daughters, Elizabeth McGriff of Benton, Arkansas, Alice Simmons of Woodleaf, North Carolina, and Cecilia Timmerman of Little Rock; 15 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
The funeral for Mrs. Stodt will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel with the Reverend Sam Fratt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
