NEW IBERIA, La. - Memorial funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Dozier, age 81, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, in Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Noah Langley and the Rev. Roland Fontenot will officiate at the service. Interment will be held at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in Midland, Texas. Visiting hours will be at 5 p.m. beginning Thursday, Sept. 2, and will continue after the service until 9 p.m.
A native of Midland, Texas, and resident of New Iberia, La., Mr. Dozier passed away at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, in Dauterive Hospital.
Mr. Dozier was retired from CE Natco, having worked in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. He always kept in touch with his friends back in Texas and was still a member of the Masonic Lodge in Midland and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Odessa. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include his daughters, Donnelle Pesson and husband, Karl, and Debra Rayburn and husband, Dale, both of New Iberia, and Diane Dozier and husband, Pat, of Alpena, Ark.; five grandchildren, Shawn Pesson, Jackie Neuville, Jody Glover, Jerrard Boudreaux and Jennifer Horton; 10 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Kristin, Kimberly, Jainey, Jude, Sage, Emily, Kaitlyn and Andrew; and one sister, Jeanne Dozier Coughran of Mason, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Dozier and Minnie Hazel Van Huss; his brother, Ted Dozier; and his sister, Jo Moffett.
In memory of Mr. Dozier, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society of your area.
