He was born February 26, 1918, in Eighty Four, a son of Joseph and Garnet Leyda Murray.
He was a lifelong member of the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church.
He worked as a union carpenter for more that 30 years.He served on the Ginger Hill School Board and was a member of Carpenters Local Union 541 and Henry Phillips Lodge 337 F.&A.M of Monongahela.
He was a graduate of Trinity High School
On September 14, 1947, he married Genevieve Headley, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dennis Murray of Cape May Court House, NJ; three daughters Kathleen Kornick of Cape May, NJ, Patricia Augier of McDonald, PA, and Debra Knowlson of Washington; four brothers Gaylord Murray of McMurray, Audron Murray of Columbus, IN, Jack Murray of Lady Lake, FL, and Hillis Murray of McDonald; and eight grandchildren.
