Her parents were both born in Wyoming. Her grandmother Sears was born in 1872 near Laramie. Great-grandfather A. H. Huston was a noted pioneer and hunter.

Mildred went to school in Saratoga.

In 1931, she married Lawrence Needham. Two daughters - Irene and Marian - were born to this union. The family ranched near Saratoga until their divorce in 1956.

Mr. and Mrs. Bashore sold the ranch and retired, spending the next 20 years wintering in Arizona and summering in Wyoming, fishing and camping.

Mrs. Bashore was a member of the Saratoga Chapter 12, Order of the Eastern Star, for 62 years. She had served as Worthy Matron in 1944 and received her 50-year pin in 1989.
