Fred Harold Calfee, 91, USAF (Ret.), resident of 117 Amherst Dr., husband of Betty Jane Guyer Calfee, died November 27, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Princeton, WV, May 18, 1921, he was a son of the late Sutton W. and Verna Rae Faulkner Calfee. Mr. Calfee retired as a Lt. Colonel in the US Air Force after 28 years of service, having served in World War II and Vietnam. After his retirement, he was employed as the general manager of Greenwood Country Club from 1975-1985. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he served on the Finance Committee and was the church treasurer for over 20 years. He was also a life member of the Military Officers Association of America. Mr. Calfee deeply loved his family and was an avid golfer. Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are a daughter, Deborah Calfee of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Michael Calfee of CA, and Lt. Col. Mark Calfee of Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Calfee Ball and was the last member of his immediate family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Main Street United Methodist Church, with Pastor Phil Thrailkill officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
