CPL, US Marine Corps, Vietnam. Robert F. Wade, 65, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday January 1, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro.

Born in Chelsea, MA on March 15, 1946, he was a dear son of the late James E. and Shirley C. (MacDonald) Wade.

Bob grew up in Mansfield and was a 1965 graduate of Mansfield High School. For most of his life, Mr. Wade had worked as a professional painter.

Upon graduating from high school, he faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He was extremely proud of serving in the Marines and on February 7, 1969 was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, received many citations for his acts of heroism and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Bob was also a member of the DAV.

He is survived by his devoted brothers and sisters; Richard A. Wade, Gregory T. Wade, Brian E. Wade and James L. Wade all of Mansfield, Craig J. Wade of Anchorage, AK, Elizabeth J. Murray of Greenville, NC, Susan M. Wade of Attleboro, Jennifer A. Wade-Bennett of Barre, VT, and the late Gary S. Wade of Mansfield, Elizabeth J. Murray of Greenville, NC, Susan M. Wade of Attleboro and his aunt Thelma Dumont of Westford.
