BRIDGEPORT -- Wilma Marie Ashcraft, age 72 of N. 16th St., Clarksburg, passed away early Monday morning, June 20, 2005, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.

She was born July 17, 1932, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Hobert Cornwell and the late Ethel Allan Cornwell.

Survivors include her two sons, Timothy Ashcraft and his wife Michelle and Kevin Ashcraft, all of Clarksburg; one grandson, Steven Ashcraft and one granddaughter, Marleena Ashcraft, both of Clarksburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Ashcraft and one sister, Alma Allen.

A homemaker, Wilma had previously worked in the kitchen of the Stonewall Jackson Restaurant and was a sales clerk for the G.C. Murphy Department Store. A devout Christian woman, she was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and most recently the Barnes Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ashcraft was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 409, Clarksburg. Her C.B. Handle was "Little Whimpy." She liked watching television, particularly QVC, the Golden Girls, T.V. Land and various religious programming. Her favorite evangelist was Reverend Billy Graham. She also enjoyed playing card games such as Uno, Skipbo and Rummy and spending time with her family and friends.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or services. A private graveside service was held yesterday, Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens for her immediate family. Entombment followed in the Last Supper Mausoleum at the cemetery.

Wilma married James Edward Ashcraft at Harridon County, West Virginia on 19 August 1953.
