Donald was the son of Edward Jecker and Wilma Eschman. He died of 2nd and 3rd degree burns suffered over 85% of his body after an abandoned gasoline drum accidentally exploded. Fireman said that Donald apparently built a fire near the drum and the heat caused gasoline fumes in it to explode, igniting his clothing. He was 9 years old.
