Lorene Mae Brown, 92, passed away peacefully in Kuna, Idaho on February 8, 2012, at the home of her daughter Alice, with her family around her. She was born on June 14, 1919, in Depew, Creek County, Oklahoma. Her father was Sylvester Sampson and her mother was Stella Sampson (Barton). She was the second child. She had two brothers, Wilmer and Charles, and five sisters Juanita, Faye, Ruth, Joy and Verde. She attended school in Depew, Oklahoma. When she was 19 she moved to California where she met and married Bert Brown in 1938. THe lived and worked around Gridley and retired from cannery work in 1979. Lorene and Bert Had six children and they were her life. She also enjoyed her 21 grand children, 24 great-grandchildren and four Great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert of 42 years, older brother Wilmer, five sisters Juanita, Faye, Joy, Verde and Ruth. She is survived by her brother Charles, and her children: sons Leon and (Molly) of Troy, Montana, Jack and (Mary) of Oroville, California, Craig and (Roben) of Beatty, Nevada; daughters: Alice and (George), of Kuna, Idaho, Karen and (John), of Troy, Montana. There will be ans informal service held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1 p.m.
