Bostwick - Sewell Smith Gurney (1882-1949) passed away Thursday at his home
here. The body was forwarded Saturday by W. Carl Davis and Son to Yonkers,
South Dakota, for burial.
Mr. Gurney was a native of South Dakota. Five years ago he came to Putnam
County, to engage in the nursery business here. Surviving are a son, Edgar A.
Gurney of Bostwick; and four daughters, Mrs. John Sullivan of Chicago, Mrs.
Randolph Schul of Yankton, S.C., Mrs. Forest Wieble and Mrs. David Patterson of
Portland, Oregon. (Palatka Times Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 22 Sep 1949.)
