Harold Easterly, 78, passed away Saturday at his home in rural Mooreland, Indiana.
Harold was born in Jamestown, TN, to the late Henry and Mattie Easterly. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He worked for Borg Warner for over 43 years before his retirement. He also was a farmer and antique dealer, owning Easterly Antiques. He was a member of Fountain Square United Methodist Church. He enjoyed collecting antiques and attending estate auctions.
Harold is survived by two sons, Wayne Easterly of Mooreland, and Phil Easterly of Muncie; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ada Williams, Ruth Wells and Glyna Kilpatrick.
Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Hessie Mae Easterly in 2006; seven brothers and sisters, Ruie Savage, Atha Duggan, Oras Easterly, Dennie Easterly, Jimmy Easterly, Delcie Ora Ruppe.
A funeral service to celebrate Harold's life will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home at 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., with military honors conducted by The Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather to share and remember form 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
