The funeral notice for son Heinrich indicates that Pius and Johanna Schamberger had 3 sons that were paralyzed. Sons Heinrich and Joseph seem to have become paralyzed about 1869.
US Census and funeral notices show that had at least 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls.

Plot G2-126 next to Catherine Ruth (mother of Babe Ruth). Main marker is totally unreadable. There is a piece of a marker on the ground next to it where a death date of Nov. 9 can be read, but not much else. Annie died on Nov. 9.

Beerdigung. Die irdische Hülle von Frau Annie Schamberger, Gattin des Hrn. Pius Schamberger, welche am Freitag in ihrer letzten Wohnung, Nr. 216, Emorystraße, starb, wurde gestern Morgen unter zahlreicher Betheiligung von Leidtragenden vom Trauerhause aus auf dem "Hl. Erlöser Friedhofe" zur letzten Ruhe bestattet. Zuerst wurde der Leichnam nach der kath. St. Alphonsus - Kirche übergeführt, woselbst eine Requiem- Messe für das Seelenheil der Entschla fenen celebrirt wurde. Als Bahrtuchträger fungirten die HH. Mathias Palmer, B. Mahn, Gundlach und Meyer. Die Verblichene hinterläßt außer ihrem Gatten fünf Kinder.

Funeral. The earthly remains of Mrs. Annie Schamberger, wife of Mr. Pius Schamberger, living at, no. 216, Emory Street, died on Friday morning and was yesterday at the "Holy. Redeemer cemetery" laid to rest. First, from her home, the body was to St. Alphonsus - Catholic church, where a Requiem Mass for the salvation of her soul was celebrated. Pall bearers were HH. Mathias Palmer, B. Mahn, Gundlach and Meyer. The deceased leaves behind five children and her husband.
