Delvin Holt, Langdon Street, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at his home. He was 84.

He was born August 15, 1913, in Dykes, son of the late Mertie Farmer and James Madison Holt. He is a former Pulaski County circuit court clerk, taught for six years at Shopville, and also taught at schools in Sloans Valley, Quinton, and Hazelwood. He was a member of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Holt is survived by his wife, Emogene (Cowan) Holt, whom he married December 20, 1963; a daughter, Johanna (and Norman) Stephens, Somerset; two brothers, Roy (and Alma) Holt and Russell (and Hazel) Holt, both of Somerset; a sister, Katherine (and Ralph) Wesley; and a granddaughter, Terri (and Garry) Norfleet, Somerset.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Varna Holt; and a sister, Edna Calhoun.

Services were held Friday in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company, with the Rev. Jim Savage officiating. Burial was in Somerset Cemetery.
